Her son will be home from school soon. He'll find her, then call the cops. I just wanted to share the pics before they find me. I bought a bb gun that looks realistic enough. When they come, I'll pull it and it will be suicide by cop. I understand the doubts.
Just check the fucking news. I have to lose my phone now. The images were posted to 4chan's /b/ board, a place, as, 'known for child pornography, adult pornography, targeting young kids for harassment, anti-social behavior of all kinds, hate speech, and just about anything else one might imagine.' One of the suspects was David Kalac, the 33-year old live-in boyfriend of Coplin. Kalac's car was spotted in Portland early Wednesday. After he resisted a traffic stop, officers chased him briefly, but he escaped. Kalac turned himself in around 9pm local time on Wednesday in Wilsonville, Oregon. According to, Coplin's stepmother posted to Facebook, saying, 'Please pray for my family. My step daughter died today.
Coplin's sister also took to Facebook to accuse Kalac of being responsible for the murder: 'He murdered my baby sister Amber yesterday and took her car.If you see him please call 911.' While officers have confirmed the likely link between the 4chan posts and the crime scene, Kalac has not yet identified himself as either the murderer or the poster. Now that he has been arrested, Kalac has been charged with second-degree murder and is being held in Portland on $2 million bail. In the days since the photos surfaced, some /b/goers have taken the photo's of Coplin's body and face as a gift for making memes. Others on the board, including the original thread, took the events more seriously. Dozens of posts down from the original photos, an anonymous user wrote, 'You guys think you are fucking funny?

Contents. Edward Owens hoax The Edward Owens hoax was a historical hoax created by students at in 2008 as a class project for 'Lying About the Past'. The students created a website and a on about Edward Owens, purportedly a oyster fisherman born in 1853 who became a. The hoax was reported as true in some media outlets. Hoax description Students published a blog and videos about then fictional Owens, created by the fictional student 'Jane Browning'.
The blog asserted that Owens fell on hard times during the of the 1870s and took up piracy in to survive. The students wrote that he robbed smaller and wealthy pleasure boaters from using a to threaten his victims. The class created a fake, which asserted that Owens and his crew eventually went back to oyster fishing. The students later created a hoax biography of Owens on Wikipedia. After some media outlets and academics reported the hoax as factual, the class divulged the hoax. Reddit serial killer hoax The Reddit serial killer hoax was a second historical hoax perpetrated by 'Lying about the past' class members. This one quickly failed, unlike the Owens hoax.
In 2012, Professor Kelly taught the course for a second time in a similar format. The Reddit hoax, about an alleged serial killer named Joseph Scafe, was launched on the site on the 28th of April, and was first debunked in just over an hour.
Hoax description The participating students created a named Lisa Quinn, and under her name opened a blog entitled: 'I think my uncle was a serial killer.' In her blog, Lisa wrote that she found some odd items in a Saratoga steamer trunk that she received upon the death of her grandparents. Lisa posted pictures of the trunk; ladies shoes she presumably found inside the trunk; and newspaper clippings from 1895; one of which was about the murder of Alice Walsh—later identified as having been taken from the April 22, 1895 edition of. According to Lisa's post, the trunk belonged to a relative, Joseph Scafe, (also called 'Uncle Joe'), and that it contained—in a false panel—ladies' jewelry and a 'disturbing' journal. Lisa supposedly wanted to know if—in the opinion of her readers—her uncle was a serial killer. With a new, DisturbedThrowaway, the students attempted to start the spread of the hoax with a posting of a question on AskReddit: 'Do you think my uncle Joe was just weird or possibly a serial killer?'
Through Reddit, the hoax was expected to spread. At first, the hoax aroused interest. Many posters requested more photos (which DisturbedThrowaway declined) and alluded to the commercial success the case could lead to. The name of was mentioned as well.
Yet, within 26 minutes, suspicions were rising. DisturbedThrowaway, the poster of the question, claimed to have found the names of two victims, Alice Walsh and Diamond Flossie, in the documents she retrieved. She asked the redditors for assistance in research; however, a quick Wikipedia search brought forth information connected with the two names, and posters at the site wondered why DisturbedThrowaway hadn't perform such a simple search herself. Discovery Just over an hour after the initial posting, HatesRedditors suggested that the post was.
He noted that the Wikipedia entries for the victims had been created within two weeks of the posting and the pictures in the articles looked faked. The students tried to keep the deception going for several weeks, but the story was exposed. On May 14, Kelly revealed the serial killer hoax on his blog. Aftermath With the latest hoax exposed, Wikipedia deleted the two entries about Alice Walsh and Diamond Flossie which had been written by the students’ sockpuppets. The professor and students claimed that the subjects were factual, but Wikipedia found them to be of insufficient notability. Wikipedia administrators did raise questions about the course's, however, as some claimed that Professor Kelly legitimized.
Documentaries On Serial Killers
Professor Kelly did not express regret in this matter, 'I don't think there were any real victims here', he blogged: “ I will also continue to teach Lying About the Past. Given the ubiquitous nature of Wikipedia in the information landscape, I think it's fair to say that whenever I teach the course again, Wikipedia will be a part of it some way, some how.
” Results Yoni Appelbaum wrote in an article, 'How the Professor Who fooled Wikipedia Got Caught by Reddit,' in which he compared the serial killer hoax and the last pirate hoax. In his article, he wondered why the 2008 hoax was successful, while this hoax failed in minutes. One answer he suggested was that Wikipedia has a trusting community, while Reddit has a critical and skeptical community. In March 2013, Kelly announced that he would no longer be teaching the course, after the university declined to make it part of the regular curriculum of his department, however, as of February 2015 Professor Mills continues to delve into topics dealing with editing and/or manipulating Wikipedia in his class at George Mason University. As of February 2016, all references to the hoaxes and classes have been removed from the university's web pages. See also. References.

Found out about this a couple of days ago and I'm still in the middle about if its a hoax, or is this real. 4chan /b/ board isn't exactly the kinda place to be taken seriously, but it never hurts to see if this is valid. Alleged serial killer last posted on 9/22/15 he says he'll be posting again with more pictures? We know that one of the victims that he posted about is 'Shauna Maynard' the other women, and the man have yet to be identified, but some people on 4chan think its the killer himself. I don't think so. Here's what one theory that I'm leaning towards, and of course this is speculation.
![The 4chan Serial Killer Video The 4chan Serial Killer Video](/uploads/1/2/4/0/124019402/693502192.png)
It's quite possible that this is real, and none of the women minus Shauna have been reported missing, because they're into prostitution. Because he did say he did this for fun I don't know lol but that would be the only explanation for why their's a guy that he killed.
Here's the reason why I think that maybe Shauna, and the other girl were prostituting. Prostitutes back in the 1980s and 1990's were usually teenage runaways. Shauna was said to have been a run away from California she was also 17 she was found dead in vegas. Vegas is big into prostitution, especially back in the 1980's 90s. Also there were a lot of things about Shauna that remained a mystery. Here's an article that I found about Shauna - Also does anyone notice that in the picture of who we think is Shauna when she was dead, she had an old pager clipped to her waste?
That's another indication that she was maybe prostituting. You didn't have high tech cell phones back in the 80's/90's so you used pagers to connect. You also have to take into account how she was dressed. Short skirt, top showing off a lot etc. I lightened the picture up a little bit. So people can see the pager a little bit more clear.
Link to picture - since Shauna was identified maybe we can help identify the other people that this person allegedly killed. The people that we can clearly identify anyway. Unidentified male.
Brief description white or hispanic. 30 - 35 yrs old. Wearing a gold necklace. Unidentified Woman. Either African American, or Hispanic.
She looks to be in her early teens maybe even early 20's. Glossy images in the digital age i'll agree even people having prints made is becoming less and less common, but what if he's had them for a long time? I mean, her body was found in 1998 right?
These were almost certainly shot on film then. I don't know how old you are, so forgive me if this seems condescending but back in the day you had basically 2 options for having film developed if you weren't doing it yourself. You could select 1-hour photo and those would be done in-house, and they'd be looked at by a photo technician to correct color balance, exposure, etc. Or you could have them done next day/2-day. A lot of the time, those were processed and printed automatically at a nearby lab. Your choices for either were usually limited to 'glossy or semi-matte/lustre' and a choice of 3x5 or 4x6.
Without firing up photoshop and checking proportions, these appear to be 3x5 prints but again it's hard to know without scale/checking ratios. This implies to me that someone probably dropped the film in the processing bag, tore off the twincheck ticket and came back the next day to pick up the prints. The other thing that strikes me about these and implies they're old prints (late 90s) is the color balance and skin tone. This looks more like Kodak Gold 400 and less like digital auto-color-balance.
Lastly, the flash. There's a soft shadow on the (camera's) left side of his face. This implies a larger (probably bounced) light source, and probably off-camera. So, like a hotshoe flash with a diffuser on it.
Like what is used by forensic photographers, amateur photography enthusiasts, wedding photographers, etc. But I've gotta think if I were a murderer I'm probably not gonna pack a Nikon SB22 and a diffuser in my murderbag. EDIT: On further thought, and this is assuming the negatives weren't flipped, that shadow is on the left side. If he had a hotshoe-mounted flash, the shadow would be on the camera's RIGHT side when you rotate the camera for a vertical shot. Unless you were using a flash bracket like a strobo-frame.
This in my opinion is too complex a rig to be taking with me on a murder-spree. These were either taken by a forensic photographer or a murderer with a passion for good photography and shitty print film and processing. If the murderer printed these himself, which is a bit of a chore with color print film, I'd think he would have gone bigger than 3x5' prints on glossy. The exposures look good (definitely shot close-up with a flash but none of the highlights are blown, good dynamic range overall except for some of the deep shadow in the upper right and left), which I'd expect from a forensic photographer with a bit of training, or a detective using pre-set camera controls and following a checklist. Red alert 3 please install at least one language pack regedit.
Then they handed them off to their photo processor who did quick and dirty proofs. Just thoughts from someone with 20+ years experience in phography/darkroom printing. Did a search and found the picture that was posted on 4chan. IF this is a hoax, that's one sick joke. Warning (NSFW, decease body).

Edit. Turns out to be a hoax. A shocking online claim is bringing new attention to a cold case murder in Las Vegas. Someone posted graphic pictures and claimed to be the killer of Shauna Maynard, a runaway found shot to death back in 1998. It appears to be a hoax, Las Vegas Police officials tell Action News the claim is not valid but they wouldn't elaborate. The disturbing photos and outrageous claim were posted to 4chan, it's a user-generated content site much like Reddit.
It was put up just over a month ago and it is disturbing. The anonymous poster set it up like a sick game, claiming to have killed several women then urging other users to guess names to go along with the disgusting images that appear to show dead bodies. 'Whoever could do something like that just shows that it's a sick sick mind, you know social media unfortunately can be so abused in manners like this,' said Retired Metro Lieutenant, Randy Sutton.
One of the first pictures shows a dark haired woman covered in blood but her face isn't visible. Next to it there's a high school photo that users quickly identified as Shauna Maynard. 'The cruelty of that is beyond belief, I mean if you think about how the woman's family has been suffering for all theses years.'
